BOP Remote Control Unit

The BOP Remote Control Unit serves as the "central nervous system" of the wellhead BOP system in oil and gas drilling operations. Through hydraulic, electronic control, or electro-hydraulic linkage methods, it enables remote operation and status monitoring of annular BOPs and ram BOPs. It ensures the rapid triggering of well-shutting actions when wellhead pressure is out of control,  acting as a core control device for safeguarding drilling safety. This unit must comply with the API Spec 16D.

The FKQ-type blowout preventer control system adopts a pneumatic-hydraulic control mode and consists of a remote console, a driller's console, and a gas control pipeline cable. The remote console is composed of an oil tank, a electric control box, etc. The driller's console is made up of pump unit, accumulators, various valves, instruments, a pneumatic control valves, pressure gauges, and other components.

High-pressure power fluid generated by the pump unit is stored in the accumulators. When it is necessary to open or close the blowout preventer and hydraulic valves, first toggle the gas source switch valve on the driller's console to the "open" position, and at the same time operate the corresponding control valve to reverse direction. Compressed air enters the remote console through the air pipeline cable, controls the corresponding cylinder, and drives the reversing handle to make the corresponding 3-position 4-way rotary valve on the remote console reverse direction. The fluid stored in the accumulators is transmitted to each controlled object through the 3-position 4-way rotary valve, thereby achieving the purpose of opening or closing the blowout preventer.
